Much Wenlock
The beautiful "black & white" town of Much Wenlock has much to offer throughout the year including shops, restaurants & pubs with great food. It was also the home of Dr William Penny Brookes, one of the most influential pioneers of the modern day Olympic Games and you will find many Olympian related artefacts in the local museum and around the town. The spectacular ruins of Wenlock Priory (English Heritage) are located a short walk from the town square.

Wenlock Edge
This wooded limestone escarpment stretches from The Wrekin to Craven Arms and is popular with walkers and fossil hunters. Access to the Edge is less than 2 miles from the house.

Around and about Shropshire
There is a myriad of attractions and places to visit around Shropshire during your stay.

Shrewsbury
Shropshire's county town is famous for its mediaeval buildings, including Shrewsbury Abbey (fictional home of Brother Cadfael). The river, with riverside walks, almost circles the town, which has good shopping facilities, museums and a castle.

Ironbridge Gorge
The World Heritage Site at Ironbridge comprises of 9 museums dedicated to the history of the Industrial Revolution.

Bridgnorth
Occupies one of the most spectacular inland town settings in England. In 1642 King Charles I described the view from the town as "the finest in my domain". The lower part of the town is linked by a unique cliff railway and is home to the Severn Valley Steam railway.

Ludlow
The ruins of its castle dominate Ludlow, a mediaeval market town in South Shropshire.. The town is renown for its quality eating places, plus market and a collection of antique shops.
